How to perform

  1. Set a cable pulley to the lowest position
  2. Stand sideways to the machine with the cable behind your body
  3. Grab the handle with the outside hand, using a neutral grip
  4. Step slightly away to create tension; keep your torso tall
  5. Keep a soft bend in your elbow and brace your core
  6. Raise your arm out to the side until about shoulder height
  7. Lead with your elbow; avoid shrugging your shoulder
  8. Lower slowly behind your body, then repeat before switching sides
